Heather Rectanus is a Senior Research Scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute and has over 18 years of experience working on a broad range of environmental research, development and implementation projects. She specializes in bioremediation and monitored natural attenuation remedial strategies for CERCLA and UST hazardous waste sites. Her interests reside in technology transfer to integrate the state of the science with field applications, and she has worked on projects encompassing biosparging designs, biobarrier installation, MNA assessment and DNAPL management strategies. Currently, she is the Deputy Program Manager for the Environmental Services and Technologies (ESAT) and Environmental Security Technology Services (ESTS) ID/IQ contracts with NAVFAC EXWC. Heather received MS and PhD degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech and BS and BA degrees in Nuclear Engineering and German from Kansas State University.
